With summer around the corner, it’s time to travel and star planning your summer trips. If you are a design and art lover there are plenty of reasons to travel around the world in June. Here we will show you our top design and art events that will occur.
Barcelona
Barcelona Design Week will occur from 5-14 of June 2018 and challenges its participants to present new projects for the outdated models of architecture across Barcelona. While you are visiting Barcelona you can go to the Gaudí’s Casa Vincens that opened doors on last fall.
Valletta, Malta
Valetta will be hosting the title of European Capital of Culture in 2018. This title includes all the Maltese Islands and aims to spread its impact throughout the entire Maltese territory. We counsel our readers to travel to Malta between June 29 and July 15, during that time will occur the Malta International Arts Festival that will take over the island with installations, concerts, dance performances, opera performances etc. Book now one good hotel and enjoy a perfect weather over the Mediterranean sun.
Washington, D.C.
By the People Festival will occur on the 21-24 of June in Washington and will feature a lot of performance including art installations, conversations between speakers from different sides of current issues about the art reality and its main goal is to connect people from all kinds of backgrounds promoting open and civil discourse. Most of the activities are free.
Porquerolles, France
The new Foundation Carmignac will open doors in June 3 and for the first time people will be able to see and contemple the Édouard Carmignac’s amazing collection that includes works by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Roy Lichtenstein, John Baldessari, Willem de Kooning, Alexander Calder, Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, and many many others.
San Francisco
The San Francisco Design Week is an essential week-long regional festival that showcases the unique intersection of ideas, design, business & entrepreneurism that makes the Bay Area the birthplace of the future. This year the event will take place from 7 to 15 of June.
