Looking back at our design journey so far, Boca do Lobo Blog has opened its doors to our past and what makes us unique, by sharing with our audiences our know-how and the craftsmanship techniques that are embedded in our furniture designs. The remarkable and already time-honored piece, Eden coffee table combines both contemporary and modern design styles, to suit any environment waiting for superior craftsmanship and iconic design.
One of the processes we appreciated the most is the art of metalwork, where the metal is heated until molten into a chosen shape and size. The process starts by melting metal into a liquid, pouring it in a mould with a cavity of the desired shape, and removing the material, or casting after the final work gets cool and then solidified. The solidified part can be ejected or even broken out of the mould. Metalwork is one of the most used techniques for making intricate forms that would be difficult to have from other methods, including sand casting.
Imperfectio Sofa is the expression of imperfect aesthetics, the appeal of that which is authentic art that is truer to life. The irregularities and flaws over the manual hammered brass expose the beauty of imperfection. Some parts are roughly asymmetrical at the surface yet comfortable and smooth in a peculiar way to excite a desire for complementing your living room.
To form, to cut, and to joining processes can be a praiseworthy playground. An artful creative assortment of large-scale structures, assemblies, to the most delicate jewelry.
The Lapiaz cabinet is split in a unique shape, revealing a rich and alluring interior. Produced using the finest veneers, gold leaf and hand-cut mirrors, the Lapiaz brings bold character to any interior, yet maintaining a refined and elegant posture.
Big size shapes and creative forms are innate to metalwork, which involves time and careful effort from our blacksmiths. Consequently, fine-looking welding can also be a challenge. Joining each component must be at design service and overcome its functionality.
