François Pinault, the French billionaire (owner of Gucci and Saint Laurent) known for his collection of contemporary art, exhibits part of his pieces at the Bourse de Commerce, an emblematic building located in the center of Paris, which was renovated by Japanese architect Tadao And.
When you enter the new museum building, you can see many traces of the building’s past, but the architect has done a beautiful job, building a circular cement structure inside the circle, giving it a more contemporary feel, using these neutral materials. Inside, the public will have the privilege to see his collection of great names in the art world.

It was almost 10 years ago that work began on this new museum, at that time envisioned to be the largest U.S. institution dedicated to film, it promised immersive and dynamic programming aimed at illuminating the endless stories of cinema. The new museum project is located in Los Angeles and is scheduled to open on September 30 of this year. It will be housed inside a former May Company department store, newly named the Saban Building. Italian architect Renzo Piano was recruited to renovate this building.
“The Academy Museum gives us the opportunity to pay homage to the past by creating a building for the future – indeed, for the possibility of many futures. The historic Saban Building is a wonderful example of the Streamline Moderne style, which preserves the way people imagined the future in 1939.”
– Renzo Piano, architect
