Tom Dixon and his team are planning a grand tour that will see the designer bounce across eight European cities to present his latest designs. Making its first stop in Milan during Supersalone 2021, Dixon’s presentation focuses on the theme of light, with a showcase titled ‘Luminosity’ exploring ‘how optics and light can improve your space’.

Hermès’s latest collection explores texture with bold, organic furniture by Studio Mumbai, enamelled copper centrepieces and a playful tea service titled Hippomobile. Italian artist Gianpaolo Pagni took inspiration from the patterns of jockey silks and equine engravings in the Émile Hermès collection for these mix-and-match designs.

For 2021, the pair explore the outer reaches of sculptural illumination with Fragments of Infinity, an installation of new work inspired by space and the balance between light and matter—as cleverly articulated in the Milky Way floor-to-ceiling column.

Moroso has collaborated with French-Lebanese architect Annabel Karim Kassar to produce a series of side tables and a modular seating system. The collection, titled Salon Nanà is inspired by Morocco where Kassar lived for three years.

London-based Bethan Laura Wood’s solo show for Nilufar Gallery, titled Ornate celebrates a decade of dialogue between Wood and leading Milanese gallerist, Nina Yashar. New works based on the theme of the boudoir span lighting, cabinets, mirrors, a desk and a bedhead aim to blur the boundaries between 2D decoration and 3D form.

New to the Gucci Décor 2021 collection, which champions all things made in Italy, is coloured porcelain tableware created in partnership with the renowned Florentine company, Ginori 1735. The collection also features new cutlery, candles, wallpaper, soft furnishings—cushions, blankets and quilts—and furniture. A pop-up store in Milan during Salone opened the past September 5. Located in a traditional stationery store it celebrates the launch of a new Gucci Lifestyle collection featuring backgammon boards, drawing sets and pyjamas.
