The fair is a platform for the latest limited editions and one-offs from well-known and upcoming designers working in different design disciplines and with various materials. OBJECT is the place where the cutting edge of design, crafts, fashion, architecture and art becomes evident and it is a must-see for collectors, professionals and other design-minded people. Join Daily Design News and find out more about Object Rotterdam 2018, one of the best design events out there!
OBJECT 2018 welcomes you to the characteristic HAKA building, an amazing architectural monument dating back to the thirties. The building is located right between the city centre of Rotterdam and the Van Nelle Fabriek. So ideal to combine with Art Rotterdam or the activities in the centre of town. The HAKA will be redeveloped the upcoming year and we give you the chance to have a sneak peek inside! During three days OBJECT opens its doors to collectors, professionals and other design-minded people.
This year the fair is even bigger and better featuring work by 100 designers and over 5.000 square meters full of inspiration. And that is not all: with an OBJECT ticket, you will get free access to the iconic Euromast where they host a design presentation, too! And where the views from the top are just amazing… A free shuttle service connects you to the other art events in town. Easy does it.
Visit the OBJECT design installation at the iconic Euromast. With an OBJECT ticket, you’ll get free entrance and the chance to experience the amazing view from the top. This icon of Rotterdam is an observation tower designed by Hugh Maaskant and constructed between 1958 and 1960. It is a listed monument since 2010. The tower is a concrete structure with an internal diameter of 9 m and a wall thickness of 30 cm. It has a “crow’s nest” observation platform 96 m above-ground and a nice restaurant. There you can enjoy a cup of coffee, order lunch or have a fine dinner!

FRIDAY 9 FEBRUARY
Just outside the bustle of the city, tucked between the fringes of the port of Rotterdam, are the creative headquarters of AVL Mundo, founded by artist Joep van Lieshout. The foundation aims to support culture, in the broadest sense of the word. In their headquarters, various activities are organized, from large utopian projects to (un)desired interventions. Also located within this creative haven is the studio of Atelier Van Lieshout. Here you can wander amidst the Atelier’s installations, where they are designed, produced and subsequently find their way to museums all over the world. AVL is just a short walk away from the new OBJECT location and warmly welcomes visitors on Friday evening between 17 and 19 hrs for a special and free tour.
SATURDAY 10 & SUNDAY 11 FEBRUARY
The new venue is situated at the entrance of the bustling Vierhavensgebied. In this area several international renown, Rotterdam-based designers have their studios. Talented and famous entrepreneurs such as Daan Roosegaarde, Richard Hutten, Makkink&Bey, Joep van Lieshout, Wieki Somers, Sabine Marcelis and others run their design practice from here. By appointment, visitors of OBJECT get the chance to have a look at their creative practice and wander around this new cultural hotspot in town.
