In the seemingly ordinary real world, however, a flashback is nothing more than a memory triggered by a stimulus.

Of course, memories can be both good and bad, but who doesn’t look at a little trip to the past endearingly? Whether it is through a scent you know from childhood, the flavour of a distanced relative’s signature dish or a colour scheme that makes you feel renewed, the senses have a spectacular way of making us remember what we thought was long forgotten.
