The purpose of this trendy apartment was for a family of three to have that so desired rest on the weekends. Inspired by Summer, the home brings that breeze and warm hues all over the place. Located in Svetlogorsk, Russia, this family wanted to bring that home feeling to their new vacations hotspot.
Designed by Marina Kutuzova, the renovated home used to be a block of flats in the resort town of Svetlogorsk, the two apartments now turned into one are nestled near the shore of the Baltic Sea. Designed to be a Summer retreat as well as a long stay vacation, this trendy Russian apartment brings all the brightness and cosiness one could ever hope to have.
With a total area of 125 square meters (410 square feet), the home has significant features that make our eyes pop out! With a spacious kitchen-living room, a bedroom with stunning views of the coast and a children’s bedroom, who could ever want more?
To bring some contrast to the areas, trenches for ceiling luminaires emphasize the configuration of the space. Bold and bright, dark tones were used on the walls to open the home. Giving additional depth to the room, the dark colour worked wonders.
On the living room design, the technique of “a secco”, meaning the colours were selected taking into account the interiors. Coppet and panels that reflect the sunlight, filling the room with that precious heat are seen in the bedroom.
The pride and joy of the designers is certainly the entrance area. While entering the room, you fall endlessly in love with the voluminous, spectacular space. DelightFULL ‘s Coltrane Suspension Lamp makes a stunning appearance, bringing to this project “the seagulls “ and modern flair that makes this apartment so unique.
With a minimalist and industrial feeling to it, it is not, however, hard to understand where the mid-century inspiration lies. Coltrane is a simple suspended ceiling light, which is handmade in steel. It features a steel cord and a magnetic disc at the top, while down below the canopy is built out of stainless steel, with a gold-plated finish.
